How to Clean and Protect Enamelled Cast Iron

  • Wash and dry cookware before first use. If cookware includes rubber Pot Protectors, set them aside and keep for storage.
  • Never put the ceiling into cold water while it is absolutely hot.
  • First, clean and discard any big pieces that you can get at your ceiling with a wooden spoon and paper towel
  • Use vegetable oil or cooking spray for better cooking and easier cleaning,
  • Then place the ceiling back on the oven and, while starting to boil on the one hand, dig a wooden spoon and the remains on the ceiling.
  • Use wooden, silicon or nylon utensils. Metal can scratch the porcelain
  • This process will take no more than 2-3 minutes after boiling.
  • Take your ceiling (without burning your hand) over the oven; Pour dirty water and residue into your sink.
  • If there are still pieces remaining, clean the kitchen sponge with a little bit of warm water under the green side
  • As the next most important step, you need to dry your ceiling. If you skip this step, the ceiling will rust. Put your ceiling on the furnace again, with paper towel, and wait until it is dry. You can dry your ceiling in the oven instead of putting it on the oven. Afterwards, be sure to keep it dry when storing.
  • At the same time, before lifting your drying ceiling, wipe the inner side with a paper towel again, this fine oil layer will provide extra protection against corrosion.
  • Enameled Cast Iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, and are oven safe to 500 °F. Do not use in microwave ovens, on outdoor grills or over campfires. Always lift cookware to move.
  •  For added longevity, pre-heat and cool your cookware gradually
  •  Use oven mitts to protect hands from hot cookware and knobs. Protect countertops/tables by placing hot cookware on trivets or heavy cloths.
